Protect your child from sexual predators, pay attention to your children.

Hello friends and followers, hope this month of July brought good tidings and good health to you and your loved ones.

The issue of "cradle robbers" and sexual predators in our society is taking a huge dimension.

Some followers of this blog shared their experiences, they asked that their identities be protected.

Mrs Alabi(not real name) is a happy mother of two twin girls, she stays in a quiet neighborhood around Obalende Lagos, Mrs Alabi works as a nurse, and her husband is an offshore worker who is hardly around-hence the family decided to bring a nephew to live with them to take care of the house and kids in their absence.

Things have been going well,with no issues till when the girls turned 5 years old,at first she noticed the way the girls always touch their privates, she thought it was weird,but didn't really give it second thoughts.

One day when she was on leave and was bathing them, she noticed one of her daughters rubbing her Vagina, she was alarmed and smacked her so hard, the daughter screamed "mommy why are you beating me, uncle Taiwo always rubs it for us" the mom was alarmed- she quickly called her husband who took permission and rushed back home the next day, when they confronted him, he denied- it took the intervention of an elder in the community who threatened to involve a spiritualist so he swear an oath, this is when Taiwo broke down and confessed, he has been defiling these kids since they turned 4yrs old-its just sad the mom and dad were not paying enough attention.

so sad....

please here are guidelines to help you protect your child from sexual predators;
 (1) Always talk to your children, instruct them not to allow anyone touch their private parts and to tell you when anyone does.

(2) Always be around to watch your kids grow each day, never be too busy not to create time for your kids.

(3) Give your kids audience whenever they want to speak to you, be easily approachable- some parents shun their kids and treat them like pests, this will make your kids afraid to approach you for any issue they are dealing with. kids are smarter than we think,listen to them-and watch their body movements around relatives and neighbors.
